Low mood and Depression
HOW CAN CBT HELP WITH DEPRESSION & LOW MOOD?
Depression can have a significant impact on many aspects of life, making it difficult to cope with daily responsibilities and maintain relationships. It can affect performance at school or work, reduce motivation, and create a sense of disconnection from others. In some cases, feelings of hopelessness may become overwhelming, leading to thoughts that life is no longer worth living. The persistent low mood, fatigue, and loss of interest in activities that once brought joy can make even the simplest tasks feel exhausting. Without the right support, depression can feel isolating and difficult to manage, reinforcing negative thoughts and emotions.
We explore the root causes of depression and work together to develop an understanding of maintenance factors for depression whilst exploring strategies that promote balance thinking and emotional resilience. By addressing unhelpful thought patterns and developing practical coping strategies, CBT focuses on improving daily functioning and overall well-being. It encourages small, manageable steps towards re-engaging with activities that provide a sense of purpose and pleasure. Through structured techniques, individuals can learn how to break the cycle of negative thinking, build resilience, and regain control over their mental health. With a focus on enhancing quality of life, CBT empowers people to move forward with greater confidence and hope for the future.
