What To expect
The processes of cbt:
During our first session, you can expect a comprehensive assessment where we will explore your concerns, background and goals for therapy. This will also be an opportunity for you to learn more about the therapeutic process, ask any questions you may have, and clarify how we can work together effectively.
In following sessions, we will work together to set meaningful goals tailored to your problems and needs. We will explore identifying the thoughts, beliefs and behaviours contributing and maintaining your challenges, exploring how these patterns have developed and are maintaining the problem. Together, we will test and implement alternative ways of thinking and behaving that better align with your goals and values.
We will use in between sessions tasks for you to practice and reinforce these new strategies, to build confidence in applying them and to deepen your understanding. This engagement is a key part of making lasting changes and ensuring progress towards your desired outcomes.
