Cognitive behavioural therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a short-term, goal orientated psychotherapy that emphasis the connection and influence of our thoughts, emotions, behaviours and physical sensations.
By identifying and challenging difficulties, we aim to support you in understanding and creating new/balanced perspectives and behaviours.
CBT is a talking therapy that supports a variety of different challenges, difficulties and goals for each individual.
how long will cbt last?
CBT duration varies based on personal needs and the issue/difficulty/area of focus at hand. Usually, CBT is recommended for 8-25 sessions, scheduled either weekly or fortnightly. This will be discussed between you and your therapist.
The duration may depend on factors such as problem complexity, client responsiveness, learning style/speed. CBT’s structured approach promotes efficiency, with some seeing changes and improvement quickly, and others needed extended and longer-term treatment.
